wire

slow days mean find money. looked at the scrape wire bin and found money. 4 small boxes of wire added up to 178# of insulated #1 hvy we took it to the scrape yard ,they paid 288 dollars. not bad for 30 minutes of work. after that it was back to the shop to load more up for tomorrow have to get to the scrape yard before noon to avoid the crowds of strange people. any little piece of metal some people will turn in for money, it gets vary interesting sometimes.

next job-45 min drive-install 70 lights,cement beams,fun. it was fun to do something vary different for a change. job boss is good to work with,we must wait for the painter ,then go back to finish odds and ends

spring ?

is spring close? yesterday I saw a robin on the ground,the snow is almost gone,and right now i see a groundhog up in a tree,yes in a tree. The birds are back. it is 26 degrees right now so it is still cold in the morning but the itch of spring is here.
I look at the pig pen yesterday, i need 1- 2x6x12 and 2-2x4x8 to finish the repairs and fix the water system then ready for pigs!! thinking of 5 this year 1 for friend 1/2 for us 1 for pig roast 3 1/2 for a donation. feed is high right now so welsee .

cold

Afternoon service call to fix the power to a house. 20 degrees with 20 mile per hour winds. me,on a ladder bur. will it is fixed,and power back on. I saw the county plow go by two times before i left there, the wind was drifting the road over faster than they could plow it.

ICE salt heavy,slip light

No work today,so my dad and I moved A couch and two chairs to his neighbors house,and A love seat and table to our house. We made it though the icy steps and slippery driveway so I thought (good the worst is over). Just as I get my dad back to his house,he steps onto the driveway, slips falls and breaks his ankle. Right at 12:00 noon, so much for A good lunch. Looks like maybe A splint for now,so mom and him can still go to FL to babysit. Don't forget SALT HEAVY , SLIP LIGHT

salt and snow

cold and snow that means the only trucks on the road are hauling salt or snow. I saw many trains (which is A lead and A pup) today hauling salt from the lake shore docks into the city for city plows and local snow plow guys. when parking lots get full with snow then loaders come in and fill dump trucks to haul the white stuff away.

Big weather change from A temp of 46 to A temp of 8 ,brrr. Had A power pole come crashing down, I put on some vary warm clothes A off I went. Only had to replace the pipe going up,the power co. had the rest to fix but it was cold.

RAIN .....

this is my first post. it is raining out right now the gravel roads were all ice with water on them last night.the worst to drive on.now just slop,vary dirty and messy.
